-Jesper Ejsing
I would like to direct your attention towards a fabulous initiative from David Brasgalla, an artist from Sweden. He has created a workshop taking place in Stockholm, and has been kind enough to invite Petar Meseldžija, Justin Gerard and myself, Jesper Ejsing, to be the teachers. The workshop is scheduled for April 20-22, 2012.
To be honest I must be looking just as much forward to this as the attendants must. I really am excited to hear what Justin and Petar have to say about painting.
Well if you are in the area, or near an airport and wanna go hang with us for a weekend of painting, take a look!

Wow, this is so tempting. I live very close by the place and I've been looking for a good workshop to get me out of my shell, so to speak. And you guys are just awesome. I hesitate though: I only really work digital. Sure, I did use traditional materials way back when, but that feels like another lifetime. So, what do you think? What kind of skill level is required in order to have a meaningful experience (given the fee)
You're free to use your media of choice (unless it's flaming tarballs, or something similar). I know that several people will be working digitally, as well as myself.
As for skill level, there's no requirement on that. All you need is an open mind and your media of choice. It's not a workshop geared to beginners, and yet I would hate to turn someone away who had a desire to learn from and listen to Jesper, Petar and Justin simply because they were just starting out. As long as people understand beforehand the level that the instructors are working at, we certainly welcome anyone with an interest.
The instructors are going to be discussing the ideas behind their work processes as well as how they apply those concepts through their individual techniques, and how the students can do the same. I feel that type of wisdom is very much universal in applicability regardless of one's skill level.
Personally, I'm quite interested in bridging various disciplines, and in taking insights and approaches from traditional media and applying it to digital work for more versatile and interesting results.
I am so looking forward to this! 🙂
Presuming there's still space I've just signed up. This is incredibly awesome.
