Wow that is some incredible work.
I've never used a moleskin sketchbook. Is it pretty high quality compared to other sketchbooks?
Are the rules for this project that it has to be done on a moleskin sketchbook?
Jeremy Mann figures are soooooo good- can't wait to see the show.
These put all my moleskin sketches to shame! Thanks for the share, so cool. Now I gotta go draw until I feel a little better about myself.
Oh thanks for the heads up. I live in the Bay Area, I must go up to the city to see this.
While the artwork is beautiful the premise seems a little false to me. The artists are making finished pieces of artwork on a small scale and acting like they're from their “sketchbook”. While they were done IN a sketchbook they're not what you'd ordinarily find in these artist's sketchbooks.
I can't speak for all of them but I know for a fact that's exactly what you'd normally find in Rodrigo Luff and Barron Storey's sketchbooks (I'm not as familiar with the other artists but I wouldn't be surprised). People go nuts in sketchbooks these days…
You'll get no argument from me for Barron Storey, or Wes Burt that matter. Some of the artists took the exercise quite literally. Many of the other artists I am also familiar with and have seen their sketchbooks and they rarely ever put so much time into sketchbook pages as they're displaying here. I'd say at least half of them are being disingenuous. It's beautiful work, but they clearly treated it as gallery display material.

That's by far the best collection of moleskine drawings I've ever seen! Thanks for posting.

Very impressive artworks… 🙂
