This coming Wednesday, at Jack Tilton Gallery, is the opening of ‘Parallel Lives’, James Jean‘s second solo exhibit.
‘Parallel Lives’ is inspired by Plutarch’s Lives of the Noble Greeks and Romans – a series of 1st century biographies exploring the commonalities of noteworthy men through history – and explores the idea that destruction is a necessary component to further creation. Featuring a variety of mixed-media works alongside both paintings and drawings, Parallel Lives will be open at the Tilton Gallery from January 9 through February 16 while a special catalog of the show, limited to 1,000 signed and numbered pieces, will be available to those in attendance.
pure jeanius
Hahaha Anon, funny pun. Maybe someday I will get to see a James Jean painting in person. I like that he has gone back to more representational figurative work.
