As part of the local Gowanus Open Studios we will be opening the doors of the studio to the public and showcasing new works targeted for two forth coming conventions this Fall.
This is a chance to also land a peek at my latest large scale work on the easel – The Fellowship in Moria. This new oil painting, 40″ x 78″, is currently in progress for a private collector and represents another milestone in the growing body of images created on the theme of Middle-earth. It has been a pleasure to share these here with you all on MuddyColors over the past couple of years.
Other works on exhibit will include recent paintings on the theme of empathetic robots, book cover commissions, and numerous exploratory drawings.
The studio and home will be hung with scores of classic works, showcasing the range of commissions undertaken thoughout the twenty plus years of award winning oil painting, as well as early works featuring my developing style. Paintings range from work for the recent A Song of Ice and Fire 2015 Calendar for George R.R. Martin, to the cover of The Hobbit graphic novel, to the massive astronaut cover art Prometheus for the Spectrum 13 Annual, to the board game art for Stratego.

And me on the other side of the country. Color me extremely jealous of those of you who get to do this!
I'll be hosting another Open Studio in the Spring for those who missed out on this one!
