If you ever taken one of my workshops, or read some of my book reviews here on Muddy Colors, you’ve more than likely heard me rave about a book called ‘Framed Ink‘, by Marcos Mateu-Mestre. ‘Framed Ink’ is a comprehensive introduction to storyboard art, touching on a lot of different aspects of the artform, including composition, and camera angle.
Just a few days ago saw the release of two brand new books by the same Author, called ‘Framed Perspective, Volume 1 and Volume 2. I’ve already gotten my copies, and can personally attest to how good they are. In the two new books, Marcos delves in to how to create a believable sense of perspective and depth from imagination.
Volume 1 covers most of the basics…
Volume 2 gets pretty complex, and elaborates on the way light and shadow interact with forms in perspective…
It also talks about how to imagine the human form in terms of geometric shape so that you can better light it from imagination…
Both books are absolutely fantastic, and very unlike anything else I have on the subject. In particular, the chapters dealing with lighting the human form from imagination are worth the cover price alone, in my opinion.
Both books can be found on Amazon for around $20 each.

Damn Dan, Just got the framed Ink one after reading your review on that one. I know what to add to my X-mas list now.
I wished they are available in PDF or Kindle. Carrying books is quite a trouble. Love the author works though !
