Sadly, Bernie Wrightson passed away this weekend due to brain cancer. There are many people more suited to describing what an astounding man we was than I. But suffice it to say, he was incredibly influential to an entire generation of comic book artists and illustrators alike. He will be sorely missed.
I thought it would be a nice time to reflect on some of his work. Here are some stellar examples from his masterpiece, ‘Frankenstein’.
What a loss. My heroes are going one by one. Some of the best ink work you'll ever see. You can get lost in his lines. RIP Mr. Wrightson. Condolenses to his sons and wife.
He was a master. Absolutely brilliant. God rest him.
Will never see his like again! farewell Mr Wrightson you will always inspire me!
Sad news, his work was beyond compare. I remember listening to an interview (sidebar I think) were he said Frankenstein took around 7 years. It is hard to grasp a project of that scale in today's world, very inspiring work.
Such a sad loss as he was such a fantastic and talented artist with many such inspiring works. May his soul create
more masterpieces on his next journey. God bless.
