There’s so much to learn when you’re slinging paint and pencil, so here’s the fourth installment in my new monthly segment, Muddy Colors: Art Tip of the Month with Jeff Miracola. Each of my short videos will share a handy tip to help you create magnificent art.
My art tip this month is: Painting in Black and White
Working on a painting in black and white requires you to focus on the ever important values in your work without getting distracted by color. In this video I show you a simple setup I use to create a quick black and white oil study.
Very nice video! Regardless of proficiency … one should (probably) always slot in a value study now and then, just to remind the eye & brain that it is a powerful tool to direct attention and keep things easy to read.
Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely. The learning never ends, right?
color is the most important part of life, without color humans cannot feel the beauty of the world. even skull images like this are part of the art of color … art makes people’s lives more interesting
