Mark Manson is the best selling author behind the popular book, ‘The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck’. His books are essentially self-help books, but presented in a very humorous, insightful, and sometimes counter-intuitive manner.
Mark often writes short articles and guides for his website, dealing with a variety of life topics, which he offers for free. He recently wrote an article called ‘Screw Finding Your Passion‘, which is really apropos for aspiring artists. In an age where everyone is presenting perfectly curated visages of their life and work on social media, which often leaves others feeling inadequate or lost about their own successes, Mark’s advice is a welcome dose of tough love.
“It’s right there in front of you, you’re just avoiding it. For whatever reason, you’re avoiding it. You’re telling yourself, “Oh well, yeah, I love comic books but that doesn’t count. You can’t make money with comic books.”
Fuck you, have you even tried?
The problem is not a lack of passion for something. The problem is productivity. The problem is perception. The problem is acceptance.
The problem isn’t passion. It’s never passion.
It’s priorities.”
Out of respect for Mark, we won’t paste the entire article here. But we implore you to visit his site and give it a quick read. It’s well worth it. You can find the article right here:
