This unofficial, and unlicensed, documentary details the creation of the highly revered classic ‘Johnny Quest’ Animation. This cartoon, still revered even today, was ground breaking animation at the time and featured the talents of artists like Alex Toth and Doug Wildey.
This documentary is an incredibly in-depth look at not just process of creating the animated series (and I mean the ENTIRE process), but also the lives of creators William Hanna and Joe Barbara, and the television industry itself. This video is practically a master class on how to create a cartoon from start to finish. For those of you that listen to podcast or audiobooks while you work, you’ll particularly enjoy this insightful, no-frills documentary.
Great find!
Thanks for this!
Ufff, I’m that old? I used to watch this as a kid.
Love his work!
Fun! Can’t wait to check this out later
Incredible prime-time showcase of a stylized photo-realistic style that combined the chiaroscuro menace of Caniff’s early Steve Canyon panels and the easy grace of Raymond’s (and later, Prentice’s) figure-work on Rip Kirby.
Influential beyond any easy summary
Loved this show as a kid on Saturday mornings. So much so, I had to get them on DVD as an adult.
