Beautiful Bizarre Magazine has emerged in the last decade as one of the world’s premier champions of representational visual arts and creatives of all kinds. Showcasing Art, Culture and Couture, throughout its luscious, soul-stirring pages you’ll find photography, sculpture, traditional and digital art. In addition, on the Beautiful Bizarre Magazine website, makers of wearable art and adornments, performers, film makers, musicians and designers are introduced and exhibitions are presented. In our experience, they promote artists and creative works with a level of devotion that few others have matched.
Six years ago, Beautiful Bizarre’s founder and Editor-in-Chief, Danijela Khra Purssey, introduced The Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize. As described on the website, it is “an annual non-acquisitive international art prize that celebrates diversity and excellence in the representational visual arts. It includes all static mediums including Traditional Art media, Digital Art media, and Photographic media; and all styles from realism and hyper-realism, to pop surrealism and lowbrow. The Prize seeks to inspire creatives from around the world to pursue a life and career in the arts, and to help careers grow through funding and increased exposure of their work to galleries, collectors and media globally.” Sounds impressive, and it is.
This art contest features several categories: Traditional Art, Digital Art, Photography and Sculpture, plus the newly added Emerging Artists’ category. The rewards are significant, with $50,000 in cash and prizes offered to the winners, plus extensive exposure and promotion of their art through Beautiful Bizarre’s print, social media and digital channels. With over 1 million active followers, the boost this can provide to your visibility is notable.
Which brings us to the 2023 Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize People’s Choice Award. The jury panels have narrowed the thousands of entries received down to 145 finalists in the five categories, many of whom will be familiar to Muddy Colors readers. The winners will be announced mid-September. But before that can happen, votes must be cast for the People’s Choice Award.
Voting is open through midnight September 7 (Sydney Australia time, which is 14 hours ahead of NY time). It’s easy and you can vote for as many of your favorite works as you like, but only once for each one (no ballot box stuffing allowed, even if one really, really is your best-est favorite!). Your votes will help determine the winner, who will receive lots of cool prizes, publicity and acknowledgement that they did indeed pick the right career path. Let your voice be heard!
