Just over a year ago, I wrote a piece on acknowledging when things are bad and moving forward through it.  At that time, I was in the middle of a challenging stretch where clients had gone silent and I was finding it very difficult to find meaning and motivation in my work.  Because I was still in the middle of it, I had a limited perspective on the situation.  Having (thankfully) emerged from that place, I can see how the stress and pressure I was feeling to make work was actually making it far harder to think creatively or find any ideas exciting or interesting, which only amplified my distress.  I did stay busy though, more out of panic than anything, right up until I got knocked out with Covid for most of December, somehow hit a reset, and came through the other side.

In catching up with one of my favorite Youtube channels (Jamie Windsor, fantastic videos on creativity and photography), I just came upon a video addressing the problem of working through personal difficulties.  Ironically, this video released right when I was struggling with my own elevated anxiety, but I only found it now.  All the same, I took a lot of comfort and wisdom from it.  I know many people who are also struggling with anxiety and depression currently, and I wanted to share it here in the hopes that it might bring some comfort to others as well.
