July 17, 2024 - James Vandermeer, the Author of the highly successful novel 'Annihilation', recently announced a surprise fourth novel in the book series. The series, which one might categorize as 'biological horror', has garnered a lot of attention since it's Hollywood adaptation staring Natalie Portman. With the release of the new novel, and subsequently new cover art, the publisher decided to also re-release the previous 3 books in a hardcover edition featuring all new cover art as well. James Vandermeer's books have always had unusually stellar covers in my opinion, but this for whatever reason, I particularly love these new ones. They evoke a sense of nature, but distorted into an odd mix of beauty and horror. A perfectly apt representation of the novels themselves.
