Here is a video of a talk/ demo I did last month at EVOKE Contemporary in Santa Fe, NM. Among many other topics, the conversation touches on working out concepts, hollow sculpting figures, problem solving, a photographic process of working with models and how I choose the sculptural hairstyles and the words that I inscribe on my sculptures to relate to the overall idea. Inspiration: Dmitry Belyukin
July 29, 2024 - Like many artists, I collect folders of inspiring art from around the internet. I want to take a moment to highlight a favorite of mine, Dmitry Belyukin. Belyukin is a contemporary Russian realist painter of landscapes and historical scenes. I don't remember how I first found him, but I know it was when I was searching for inspiration for background painting for illustration. I hope you enjoy his work as much as I do!
