Here’s another video book review for you all, this time showcasing the incredible work of the film ‘Tekkonkinkreet’.
If you’re enjoying these book reviews, please let me know. I’m interested to hear what sort of books you guys would like to see reviewed. New and affordable, or rare and unknown? Any particular genre?
Hi Dan I do love these reviews and if I may suggest a title then maybe the Titan republishing of Creative Illustration by Andrew Loomis as I'd like your input on it and if possible the other Loomis books. Thank you once again!
I've debating doing those, but the PDFs of all his books are so readily available online, that I didn't know if it would be worthwhile.
The reviews are great, definitely keep them coming. I think keeping a mix of educational books for students and more expensive/rare books for collectors is the way to go. Thanks for doing these, it's a great way to check out a book before dropping money on it.
The reviews are awesome! keep them coming…my suggestion is…
Anything with John Berkey.

Great review. This series has popped up in recommendations on Amazon and Netflix but I ignored not being in the mood. Your review has spurred me to action, thanks Dan.

Hey Dan,
Love the book reviews, please keep 'em going! I'm a bit of a junkie, too, but unable to satisfy my fix as often as i wish. So getting a chance to see some of these you've shown, (like this one and Framed Ink) have given me confidence that these are worth puttin the bucks out for. I just got a few that are worthy, too. Jenny Saville's new book for her show last year, “Continuum,” (http://www.buy.com/prod/jenny-saville/228534613.html?listingId=-1&s_kwcid=) and Andrew Hem's 1st book, “Dreams into Reality.” (http://www.zeropluspublishing.com/hem.htm#images/Best-Find-a-Way.jpg )Both are incredible inspring. Thanks, again Dan, and hope to see you at IMC again next year (mine was Tarzan with the Ape Temple).
Dan – I love the book reviews- please keep them coming! For me, Marcos Mateu-Mestre is “visual crack”. And this review of the “Black” pencil drawings – sigh- yummy… but I would probably wouldn't have found it on my own so a big “Thank You.” Do you have any Sergio Toppi?? For a totally different genre, Bob Kuhn's Drawing on Instinct is pretty amazing if you like animal art.
Yes, please keep the book reviews coming. And I agree that a mix of how-to, and books by artists is great. If I may push the envelope a bit I would say you could even add works of fiction that somebody should really illustrate, and recent books to add to a Christmas list. Perhaps members here could share their top three “must have” volumes. At any rate, please keep 'em comin' and thank you.

HEy Dan Keep them coming. I say review what you love, I am sure we would all be interested in hearing your take on some great books. How about some of your Moebius books? Would be nice to see someone else's opinion on some of his books. ANd to see some of the more rare stuff in your collection. Thanks
I enjoy these as well, one suggestion I have though. Since you are such a librarian, you propably have an extensive collection of any given well-published artist, say Frazetta. I would be interest to hear your opinions on which book out of the many published would be the one to get. And Frazetta was just an example (even though a good one, I would want to get THE Frazetta Book), other examples would be Moebius, or Boris, or maybe Hildebrandts… You know what I mean, yeah?
Thanks and cheers!
Hi Dan, do you know Hiroaki Samura? It should definitely be on your artbook shelf!!
Of Course! I believe I even mentioned him briefly in the video. I'll be doing a review on him for sure.
Great review! This looks like an important collection of books to have.
The websites that exist to help you prepare for the GED offer sample tests. You can usually peruse a few questions for free. Signing up for full website access lets you take full practice tests. This is a great way to familiarize yourself with what to expect. Taking a test like to GED can be daunting. If you properly prepare, though, you will succeed.
