Thanks to all of our Patreon supporters, who have graciously donated month after month, we have reached one of our most sought after stretch goals. We are super excited to announce that Muddy Colors will be providing a FULL PAID SCHOLARSHIP to the 2017 IMC!
The 2017 IMC has been completely sold out for months, but we reserved a spot for one deserving reader to attend. The scholarship includes full tuition, a meal plan for all 7 days, and housing right on campus for the entire workshop. The only thing our winner needs to pay for is their travel expenses to and from the workshop.
What:
The IMC is a 7 day workshop focused on making you a better artist with the help of some of the best illustrators and fine artists in the world. All disciplines (traditional or digital) and skill levels are welcome. Old or young. Novice or pro. Anyone may apply for this scholarship. More info at: http://www.artimc.org
Where:
The IMC workshop takes place in Amherst, Massachusetts, USA. (Nearest major airports BDL, BOS)
When:
The IMC workshops runs for 7 days, from June 12-18, 2017

After you fill out the form, you will receive a link via email that will allow you to edit your submission as many times as you want.
Rules:
There are really only few stipulations…
1. Submit only once. (You can edit your submission. But if you submit multiple applications, all of your submissions will be discarded.)
2. Make sure the art you link to is in jpg/gif format, and between 800-2000 pixels on the longest side.
(If you link us to a PSD, or some ridiculously large file, your entry will be discarded.)
3. Make sure you are capable of covering your own travel expenses before applying.
4. You have to be 21 years of age or older to attend.
We will stop accepting application at the end of the month, so don’t delay!

Strange, but nowhere on that website does it say what IMC actually stands for…? I guess if you have to ask, you don't belong. 🙂
I am sorry if I missed it, but what is the last day we can submit the application April 9th? since winner is announced April 10th?
It's the Illustration Master Class, Terrace. 🙂 Funny that that isn't readily visible on the site now!
Hey Mike, the post says “We will stop accepting application at the end of the month”. That's Friday, March 31st!
🙂 After 10 years it's easy to forget that initials-only aren't a quick read for everyone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9ZcVBo0S3o
That's somewhat intentional actually. The IMC used to stand for “illustration master class”. But in recent years we've had a lot of emphasis on fine arts as well. The class has gone beyond just illustration to include a variety of artistic pursuits. Because of that, the owner has changed the name to simple be what it is… The IMC.
Thanks. Jacob is correct. The deadline is March 31st.
Probably a stupid question, but if we already paid for it, can we still apply for a scholarship? (Signed up last year when the future didn't look as dire and there were no scholarship options… Budget is unexpectedly tighter this year, so, um, a scholarship would be nice.)
You can still apply, regardless. Though, we do take it into account.
Dang, when I went to edit my submission to fix the file type of one of my images it said it re-submitted the whole thing, I hope my application doesn't get deleted/rejected!
No, it resubmits to save, and will send another email notice, but its the same application.
WHEW okay good! I was worried there for a second. Thanks!
Just double checked, you're fine. It shows your single entry as being updated, not a second one.
Awesome, thanks for double checking that for me!
I am now too young to attend to the course, will this scolarship be repeated every year or at least in the future? Thanks for your consideration.
i mean in the next future, sorry
It all depends if people keep donating to the blog via Patreon.
Just applied! It'd be a dream come true to be able to finally attend!
Just applied as well, thank you so much for offering this scholarship!
In Monday's reminder post you say anyone can apply… old, young, pro, novice… and that's exciting! But looking over the scholarship application form, there is a website link required. Does that mean if I have no website or current blog, I can not apply for this amazing opportunity?
HB,
Yes, you'll need some sort of online portfolio to apply, be it a website, or FB page, or Artstation, or Deviant Art page. They are easy to make if you don't already have one.
That said, if do not already have a website, the IMC may be a little more intense than you're ready for. It is a very demanding program.
Where were the results of the scholarship published?
Hello! I was wondering if a selection was made to the winner of the golden ticket? Will all contestants be notified or will a public announcement be made? Thank you for the chance to apply to this wonderful and incredible opportunity. <3
Sorry all, we are running a bit behind on announcing our winner. Our jury is having a REALLY hard time picking just one person. We were knocked out by the quality of submissions we got. We hope to announce the winner within the next 48 hours though!
Very soon!
Has this been posted somewhere yet? Thx
