It’s a new year and with it are resolutions, changes, and hope for what the blank slate of 2019 can offer.
As you all know, we strive to keep our content here on Muddy Colors informative, fresh and as relevant as possible. To this end, we are always adding new members to our roster, widening the scope of experience and insight available here. We are incredibly proud to announce that in the coming days and weeks you will be seeing the first posts of several new contributors.
We are just as excited as you are to see what they will be bringing to the blog. So please join us in welcoming these amazing artists to our Muddy Colors Family!

Recent work includes the hit Marvel series Power Man and Iron Fist as well as covers for Black Panther and Luke Cage. He currently works on his creator-owned online comic series for Line Webtoon, 1000, and the anticipated Bitter Root, a dark fantasy/action ongoing series published by Image Comics and set during the Harlem Renaissance.
Allen Williams
Allen Williams (b.1965) is an award winning illustrator, concept designer and fine artist. From a young age a pencil and paper with an escape and a refuge for Allen. Now nationally and internationally known, for over 28 years Allen has applied his talents to everything from illustration for gaming companies and book covers, to concept work for major motion pictures and television. His vision for such projects ranges from illustration to concept work and creature and character designs.
His personal work has a strong basis in reality but always flows into otherworldly aspects. He primarily works in graphite, gouache, and oils. Multilayered images arise in his work, in which the fragility and instability of our seemingly certain reality is questioned. Allen’s drawings directly respond to his surrounding environment and he uses everyday experiences and objects as a starting point for many of his pieces. Often these are framed instances and objects that would go unnoticed in their original context. By choosing mainly formal solutions, Allen tries to develop forms that do not follow logical criteria, but are based only on subjective associations and formal parallels; these are meant to incite the viewer to make new personal associations within his work. His work can be seen online or in galleries across the United States, Europe and Asia.
Marcos Chin
Marcos Chin is an award winning Illustrator whose work has appeared as surface and wall designs, on book and CD covers, advertisements, fashion catalogues, and magazines. Marcos has given lectures and workshops throughout the US and abroad, and currently lives in New York where he teaches Illustration at the School of Visual Arts.
Steven Belledin
Steven Belledin was raised in Pennsylvania and started his career completing high school art assignments for his older sisters. After high school he fled small town life to hide among the drones of New York City and become an oil painter. Four years later, he stumbled out of the gates of Brooklyn’s Pratt Institute into the harsh light of the “real world” and immediately dove head first into the brick wall of illustration. After a couple years recovering, he finally began plying his trade in 2000 and continues to plod ahead, tickled that he gets paid to do something he loves. His work has frequently been included in the pages of Spectrum and has occasionally been found on the walls of the Museum of Illustration at the Society of Illustrators and galleries throughout the United States.
His clients include Harper Collins, Estee Lauder Companies, Wizards of the Coast, Upperdeck, Sabertooth Games, Alderac Entertainment Group, Fantasy Flight Games, Hidden City Games, Hidden Kingdom Games, among others.
Steven currently resides in Seattle, Washington, with his wife and needy dog.
Tommy Arnold
Tommy Arnold is a science fiction and fantasy illustrator. His clients include DAW Books, Wizards of the Coast, Valve Software, Tor books and Del Rey Books. Tommy is a Spectrum and Chesley Award Nominee and Jack Gaughan Award Winner.

Tran Nguyen is an award-winning illustrator, gallery artist, and muralist. Born in Vietnam and raised in the States, she is fascinated with creating visuals that are in the realm of fantasy and surrealism.
