A Timberline Timelapse
Friday, November 10th, 2017
Above the Timberline has been out for two weeks, so I thought I’d share a video of painting one of the main polar bear characters while I was creating the images for the novel. I finished the project at just about this time last year.
If you bought a Timberline book, please write a quick review on Amazon about it. And thanks!
Great process. I miss painting in oils. This question just popped into my head and I thought it might be interesting to hear your answer.
How do you go about getting reference for these polar bears to paint them realistically?
Did you find a photos that suited your purpose? Or did you have to relight them from imagination? Or did you build mannequins? Or invented totally from imagination?
I'm thinking the oil painting situation would be quite different compared to the digital one where you can mess around indefinitely without consequence until it looks believable.
Wonderful! We swooned!
