“Like the wind crying endlessly through the universe, Time carries away the names and the deeds of conquerors and commoners alike. And all that we are, all that remains, is in the memories of those who cared we came this way for a brief moment.”
—from “Paladin of the Lost Hour” by Harlan Ellison
The end of December is the time to remember those members of our community that we said farewell to in 2014.

Thanks to each for enriching our lives. May they all rest in peace.
Thanks Arnie. I appreciate the time taken to remember these artists. It is always great seeing the artists I did not know about. Your post is a great way to give respect and acknowledgement for their artistry, and allows them and their work to live longer.
Thank you, and my condolences to their families.
~Mike
I didn't know some of these people had died! And it's, at once, nice to see them get respect and heartbreaking. Adam Tan! I love his work. That one was particularly sad.
Thanks for this line-up, Arnie.
It's humbling to see so many creatives pass. It's remarkable to think that we share the body of humanity with those who have gone, and those who are yet to be born, and that the culture we create will outlast any of us individually.
Thanks for the kind comments, everyone. And if I've overlooked anyone (as I probably, if inadvertently, have) please let me know. Also I'd appreciate it if anyone could share the birth dates of Lowell Hess and Karen Jones if they know them.
Arnie, I posted about Lowell Hess when he died. While no official obit is online so far as I can see, his granddaughter made a comment at the blog yesterday: “I am Lowell's stepdaughter. He had Parkinson's for years and eventually was in a nursing home the last couple. He drew as long as he could, but his vision deteriorated and the last year or so he had stopped drawing. I would say he died of natural causes or perhaps “old age”. He was a very humble man with a eccentric side as his drawings often show! I am happy to help provide any information to those interested and am glad to see the warm comments!”
