Restoration Angel Painting Process
Here's the full image of my Magic card illustration "Restoration Angel" for Innistrad Remastered, art directed by Jameela Wahlgren. It's 11 x 14 inches and done completely in acrylic, on a cradled Blick gessoboard (which I love for the smooth surface, compared to Ampersand's pebbly gessoboard). Tyler is a versatile and skilled artist and has done work for a huge range of clients, often with his work serving as the front piece for marketing and product development. But his work is also used as the foundational work for licenses like Magic: the Gathering when he wears the hat of a concept artist!
